Building of the all new Ten Kate Yamaha GYTR Pro Shop has started!
Stage 1: Let the building begin!
We have started the building of our own Yamaha GYTR Pro Shop. A new department with its own entrance will be built in the building in Nieuwleusen in the Netherlands. It will be entirely devoted to building and tuning Yamaha racing engines, supplying racing parts and sharing specialist knowledge to teams and riders accross the entire world . The official opening of the next milestone in Ten Kate's rich history will take place in the second half of 2021.
The racing history of Ten Kate Racing goes way back. Ten Kate Motorcycles created a racing team back in the 1990's that eventually conquered the world with no fewer than ten world titles in the WorldSBK championship. Due to the success of the race team, more and more questions were asked from teams and drivers whether Ten Kate could build and tune the engines for them. Ten Kate Racing Products arose from this question. This valuable addition to the Ten Kate Experience in Nieuwleusen deals with racing activities from riders during track days to teams in world championships. Ten Kate Racing Products takes care of the delivery and the construction of the bikes and sharing knowledge and giving support on the track.
When Ten Kate Racing switched to Yamaha in 2019, the Japanese brand also saw opportunities to position Ten Kate Racing Products as a specialist racing dealer. With Ten Kate's many years of experience in combination with the many possibilities under one roof in Nieuwleusen, such as its own dyno center, suspension test bench, racing department and educational courses, Ten Kate is the perfect location for Yamaha Racing to set up a GYTR Pro Shop. Yamaha's goal with the GYTR Pro Shop is that everything in the field of Yamaha racing bikes, the so-called R models, and the associated racing parts is available under one specialist roof.

Last week, Mario Janssen, country manager of Yamaha Motor Europe, Branch Benelux, together with Gerrit ten Kate, Ronald ten Kate and Rutger Belt, manager of Ten Kate Racing Products, hit the first pile for the construction of the Ten Kate Yamaha GYTR Pro Shop. This special racing department will be built in Nieuwleusen under the roof of Ten Kate Motoren, but with its own entrance and complete Yamaha Racing look and feel. Everything will be dedicated to racing at the Ten Kate Yamaha GYTR Pro Shop. A unique racing experience will be created, in which complete racing projects can be ran and it will become a knowledge center for teams all over the world.
The official opening of the Ten Kate Yamaha GYTR Pro Shop is expected to take place in the second half of the 2021 season.

Gerrit ten Kate: “We are very proud and delighted that, after intensive preparation, we have started the realization of the Ten Kate Yamaha GYTR Pro Shop. As wee see it, it is the culmination of our excellent partnership with Yamaha. Yamaha has a very clear vision when it comes to sales, service and support for racing bikes and racing parts. The facilities of the Ten Kate racing department, together with the knowledge and experience of our people, fit this picture perfectly. It is fantastic that thanks to the GYTR Pro Shop we will soon be able to welcome our customers to a unique Yamaha racing world. Our special thanks go to Yamaha Netherlands and Yamaha Europe. I would especially like to thank Mario Janssen for his commitment and the trust placed in us. We will be hard at work in the coming months and can't wait to distribute the next official opening press release!"
Mario Janssen (Country Manager Yamaha Motor Europe, Branch Benelux): “Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing (GYTR) is exclusively focused on maximum (racing) performance of Yamaha motorcycles. We are therefore very happy with Ten Kate as Yamaha's official GYTR Pro Shop, two of which are now in Europe. With the racing history and experience of Ten Kate, we have found the ideal partner to further expand our GYTR philosophy. Now that the foundation stone has been set for the new Yamaha GYTR Pro Shop from Ten Kate, we can't wait to welcome motorsport enthusiasts. I am sure that the new Shop will soon make the heart beat faster for every motorcyclist with racing DNA! ”
Stage 2: Building the Ten Kate Pro-Shop!
Since the announcement of our new Ten Kate Yamaha GYTR Pro-Shop, a lot of progress has been made. We figured it might be time to give you an update on the building of the newest addition to the renowned racing department of Ten Kate.
Although still roughly, the first signs of offiices and a showroom can already be perceived. Already in the very beginning, the steel frame was made which gave shape to the outer walls of the Pro-Shop. The timber frames are now all ready and insulation is currently being installed. A lot of work still has to be done, but the progress is very noticable every day!

Our relocation to the rear of the Ten Kate building does not stop with a new showroom and moving the offices. The entire racing department will now be in the second half of the building; including the warehouse. Because the Pro-Shop has its own ceiling, that also means we have a new floor for storage. This new part of our warehouse will be used mostly for our fairings, as these take up quite some space. The rest of our many stocked products will be stored in the newly built warehouse right above our workshop. Directly next to the Pro-Shop is of course the home base of the Ten Kate Racing Yamaha WorldSSP team.
